Toby smiled at her, “I couldn’t let you walk in the dark by yourself,” he said to her. “Some college kid might take your pizza,” he joked with her. She let out a small chuckle, but refrained from laughing. He just rolled his eyes, “Plus, I could let you get hurt, even though it’s a nice neighborhood, You know the history,” he said, “the reputation.” he said.

“I’m a big girl, Toby. I think I’m capable of protecting myself. You’re just sparing me the absolute hell of walking back with hot food in my hands,” she said. Spencer sighed when he mentioned the history. Alison, she presumed. Rosewood didn’t have any murders or violence reports since then. Come to think of it, Spencer couldn’t remember any other case like Alison’s. Well, Ian’s, maybe. That was said to be suicide, though Spencer secretly thought otherwise. So she just gave him a small nod and refrained from nagging him about insinuating Alison’s death. She didn’t know how she managed to stay so calm during the ride, it definitely baffled her.

Toby sighed and shrugged his shoulders, “I could be better,” he admitted to the girl who was avoiding eye contact. For weeks, Toby has been wondering. Wondering why she was ignoring him, treating him like he was nothing to her. He loved her, but she was hiding things from him. And how she was being mean to Emily, he just hated that. He could see Alison in her, and that scared him to death.

“Mm.” Spencer looked at him out of the corner of her eye, then quickly looked back towards the window. She wanted A to go away, so that way she could continue with a somewhat normal life. Spencer looked down at her hands and bit her tongue. She was thinking of something else to say to him, she wanted to keep the conversation going. “Thanks for bringing me to get the Pizza and saving me a long walk back with a hot Pizza,” she said softly. A small smile spread across her lips after she said that, she was trying to imagine herself walking home with hot food. It didn’t end too pretty.

Toby smiled when she got in the car. He waited until she had he seatbelt on, and started driving down the street. “So how are you, Spencer,” he asked her after a little while. He really missed being with her more than anything.

“I’m fine, Toby.” Spencer wasn’t exactly too social with Toby. She really preferred to ride in silence, but she’d just get over it. “How are you, Toby?” she asked, not making any eye contact. As long as she avoided his eyes, she’d be able to resist him. Spencer’s eyes remained fixed out of her window, she looked at the buildings and the people. She observed the happy families and grimaced, she’d never have that. Spencer snapped back to reality and sighed a little, she didn’t want to keep being cruel to Toby, but it was only for the best.

“Oh,” he said with realization, “me too,” he told her with a smirk. “Come on,” he said softly, “I’ll take you there, no interrogation, I promise,” he said. He really hoped she would come with him, he didn’t know if she would or not, and he just wanted to be with her. She stood outside for a little while, crossing her arms.

She nodded and then shook her head. “Oh, uh.. That isn’t really necessary,” she mumbled. “I’m capable of walking there, it’s really not a big deal at all. Walking is good for you and I happen to enjoy it. Why do you think I didn’t drive here?” Spencer had absentmindedly crossed her arms over her chest while speaking to Toby. She didn’t really know what else to say, she decided not to be a complete bitch. “You know what” she said. “I’d actually like a ride, it’s kind of dark outside. So a ride would actually be really helpful,” She took a few more steps towards the truck and opened the passenger door. Spencer carefully climbed into the car and closed the door behind her. The girl managed to force a small smile and ran a hand through her hair.

Pizza sounded nice. Something to get his mind off of Spencer and her weird attitude towards him. He sighed and grabbed his keys to his truck. He drove the route to the Pizza Place when he saw a familiar behind. He pulled over and slowed down next to her, realizing that was super creepy, he rolled down his window, “Spencer, it’s Toby, what are you doing out?”

Spencer heard a car slowing down next to her, she sucked in a huge breath of air and continued to walk, she disregarded the cars presence and acted as if she were oblivious to the car slowing down. She just had to get to the Pizza Place, that’s all she needed to do. The voice caused her to stop in her tracks. She exhaled quickly and stood there for a few seconds. She finally turned to face the truck and look at Toby through the open window. “I’m walking to get my dinner,” she said. She didn’t say anything else, she just stared at him for a few seconds and thought about walking off without waiting for him to respond.
